My main source of inspiration was the Odyssey gaming festival. What caught my attention is the colourful and modern UI which gives a very slick and unique look which due to the inclusion of videogame associated imagery (the loading bar especially) makes it unmistakeable to recognise what the festival is about. What also caught my attention is the inclusion of a dark colour background which gives it a more modern “night mode” look.

I replicated the colour scheme of odyssey and make the highlights be very vibrant in comparison to the “dark mode” background in order to make it look more modern and less serious to demonstrate to the website visitors that this event is focused on fun and is meant to be relaxing and informal. I added a burger menu on the side in order to satisfy customer needs and make every option available for them from the start to make it easier to navigate the website.

For registration I have decided to follow a similar colour scheme due to how easy it is to make the interactive UI stand out on a darker coloured background. All the important options are always available at the top in order to make it easier for the web visitor to navigate the website from every page, especially if they accidentally miss clicked. I have made the data collecting UI very strict and requiring a lot of details, as well as providing a data protection policy below in order to ease any concerns the users would have regarding the safety of their personal information. I have also decided to merge the sign in and log in into one page in order to make it easier to navigate, as well as adding a “forgot password” option for returning users who are unable to log in for any reason, making it more simple for them to return to using the website and recover their accounts with their data in them.

In order to make it more relatable for the users, I have named every ticket option after a type of player whilst relating it to the user’s goals for the festival. The speedrunner tier is for people that want to only stay at the festival for a small amount of time, finishing it all within 1 day. Enthusiast is for casual users who want to experience the festival according to their taste, and completionist is for people who want to experience every part of the festival. I have included a “best deal” label on the last option in order to slightly encourage larger purchases whilst still caring about the best interests of the customer. Every option has their own respected visuals which give you an idea of what the option has to offer before you read it.
